Nicaragua invites the Russian army to

MOscow announced on June 11 that Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega had given permission for Russian soldiers, planes and warships to enter Nicaragua for the purposes of “humanitarian aid, rescue and search in the event of an emergency or natural disaster”.

Below Decree 10-2022the Ortega regime has said that Russian troops will also be allowed to enter the country to “exchange experiences and train”, and that their ships will be able to “patrol” Nicaragua’s Caribbean and Pacific coasts.

Russian state television called Nicaragua’s decision “the most unpleasant icing on the democratic cake for the United States” and said Moscow should now transfer military resources to the Central American country as a reward for American armament in Eastern Europe. “If American missile systems can almost reach Moscow from Ukrainian territory,” said Russia-1 host Olga Skabeyeva, “it’s time for Russia to deploy something powerful closer to the American city on a hill “.

Ortega ruled Nicaragua from 1985 to 1990 and again since his re-election in 2007. In recent years, he has increasingly emulated Russian President Vladimir Putin, shutting down his country’s media, arresting political opponents and forcing tens of thousands of its people into exile. — everything to prolong his reign.

He also increasingly aligned Nicaragua with Moscow. In 2008, Ortega made Nicaragua one of seven nations to officially recognize two regions of Georgia that illegally declared independence under Putin’s patronage. In 2014, he showed his support for Putin’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula, even making Nicaragua the first country to open a consulate on the peninsula, despite having no interest in the region. More recently, he challenged the United States and the European Union by supporting Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Clearly, Ortega’s decision this month to open Nicaragua’s borders to the Russian military is just the latest example of partnering with Putin.

Putin has shown his appreciation for these overtures by funding a new military training center in Nicaragua and supplying his army with T-72B tanks, ZU-23-2 air defense systems, Mi-17V-5 helicopters, patrol boats and armored vehicles. Moscow also donated natural disaster relief funds, wheat deliveries and city buses to the Ortega regime.

Russia has also been busy striking trade deals and increasing cooperation with Venezuela and Cuba. Clearly, Moscow’s influence is deepening in the American periphery, especially around the Caribbean Sea which guards the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. The Trumpet addressed the danger of this trend in our article “Preparing to Storm America‘s Castle”, stating:

The United States is threatened by hostile nations taking control of the Caribbean Sea. Major news sources pay little attention to this region, but the Caribbean is vital to American security. This sea not only connects the East Coast to the Pacific Ocean via the Panama Canal, it guards the mouth of the Gulf of Mexico. Half of US maritime trade passes through the Gulf. Thus, a foreign power that controls the Caribbean could cripple the US economy by restricting its access to ocean shipping.

This geographic reality is why Russia and China want to challenge US dominance in the Caribbean. These budding superpowers are forging alliances with the socialist governments of Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. If these Latin dictatorships become staging grounds for Russia and China, a coalition of nations could potentially cut off US access to the Panama Canal and close the Florida Straits and Yucatán Canal.

As inconceivable as this scenario may seem, Bible prophecy shows that such a siege will soon take place.

Isaiah 23:3 warns against the bloc of nations that will perform it, calling it a “market of nations”. Verse 1 shows that a leading nation in this trading bloc will be “Chittim”. Trumpet editor Gerald Flurry explains in his brochure Isaiah’s vision of the end times that it is an old name referring to today’s China. Another major power in the trading bloc is “Tyre”, which Mr. Flurry says refers to “the commercial center” of modern Europe. An additional passage from Ezekiel 27 mentions ancient names for Russia (“Tubal” and “Meshech”), showing that Putin’s Russia will also play a key role in this future “bargain”.

“The Bible contains many prophecies of this European power attacking America – and many other prophecies of America being besieged,” Mr. Flurry writes. Europe will carry out this siege in partnership with the other countries associated with the “market of nations” of Isaiah 23 and Ezekiel 27, including Russia. “All will besiege America, Britain and the Jewish nation,” Mr. Flurry said.

“[T]”Asian giants” will form a “brief alliance” with European power, he writes. “If Europe, the resurrected Holy Roman Empire, found a way to take advantage, even for a moment, of the key resources and strategic assets of China, Russia and Japan, it would have more than enough power to besiege the Anglo-Saxon nations… .

“That’s why Isaiah’s prophecy of an end-time ‘bargain of nations’ that includes both European and Asian powers is so intriguing.”

Mr. Flurry emphasizes the Latin American region, mainly because of its proximity to the United States. “Herbert Armstrong has long prophesied, and we expect the alliance between Europe and South America to become exceedingly strong,” he wrote. Europe already wields significant influence in parts of Latin America. And after Russia and China form a ‘brief alliance’ with Europe, the power Russia is building in Nicaragua, Venezuela, Cuba and elsewhere in Latin America will result in an even more European grip. larger in the region.

Further details of this future siege of the United States are recorded in Deuteronomy 28:49, 52: “The Lord will bring a nation against you from afar, from the ends of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies; a nation whose language you will not understand…. And he will besiege you in all your gates, until your high and fenced walls, in which you trusted, crumble down in all your land; and he will besiege you in all your gates, in all your land, which the LORD your God has given you. .”

Our article “Preparing to Storm America’s Castle” explains the meaning of “gate” in this context:

A door is a narrow entrance or exit passage. At the national level, a sea gate is a narrow choke point such as the Panama Canal, the Florida Strait, the Wind Passage or the Yucatán Canal. God gave Britain and America these and other strategic gateways, ensuring that they would become economic and military superpowers. But God also warned that if America and Britain did not obey him, then not only would these sea gates be taken down, but they would be used. versus their. It’s about to happen.

These are sobering prophecies, revealing that America and some of its allies will soon suffer a major calamity. But Bible prophecy reveals that the “market of the nations” and the conflict associated with it are intended as loving correction from the Creator, and that the time of suffering will be immediately followed by a time of unprecedented world peace.

“[T]hat business partnership will not last long,” writes Mr. Flurry (op cit).
